CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
Job Purpose:
This job holder is responsible for the development of a framework for the effective coordination of all internal and external communication with the overall purpose of establishing and maintaining a favourable reputation, with stakeholder groups upon which the organization is dependent.
To accomplish this, the incumbent directs the development of an efficient Corporate Communication Process for Tobago Regional Health Authority where stakeholders have access to relevant information. The job will also require the development of strategic plans for the Corporate Communication Department, in order to achieve the vision of the Tobago Regional Health Authority.
Key Results:
The holder of this position is expected to deliver the following:
- Robust internal communication during periods of significant change and uncertainty across the organization, and the communities served by the Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA).
- Corporate campaigns that support the Tobago Regional Health Authority programmes/projects implemented to allow for the promotion of the TRHA business.
- An Annual Corporate Communication Plan which incorporates corporate campaigns and departmental based campaigns, which need to be published on an on-going basis.
- Strong relationships with internal and external key stakeholders built and maintained to facilitate the proper dissemination of the communication and public education services of the TRHA.
- Leadership in the event of Emergency Disaster Management in communicating the organization’s position on the matter and the status of the situation.
- Identification and implementation of effective communication techniques for fostering public participation in the provision of health care services in all communities across Tobago.
- The research, development and implementation of a communication strategy, standards and practices organization wide supervised in order to elicit, as well as promote the ethos of the organization.
- The development and implementation of a strategic plan for the Corporate Communication Department to achieve the vision of the company.
- Leadership of team members of the Corporate Communication Department to execute all communication, public education and production activities.
- Continual assessment of the media relations/crisis communication function to assist with reputation management for the TRHA.
Qualification/Experience/Training
A Master’s Degree in Mass Communications with a proven track record of at least 5-7 years in the field of media, communication or journalism, of which five (5) years must be at a Senior Supervisory (Management) level.
- Experience in Public Relations and Events Management will be an asset.
All external certification must have Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) Certification
Post-basic training in sub-speciality area.
