CASHIERS

Position Objective: To receive and disburse money in the conduct of sales transactions utilizing electronic scanners, registers or related equipment in the execution of same.   May involve the processing of debit or credit cards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 ·     Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change float

·         Maintain  float at all times

·         Greet  customers as necessary

·         Identify  prices of goods and tabulate bills using cash registers or price scanners

·         Receive payment by cash, debit or credit card

·         Ensure that customer identification is received for card payments

·         Verify  monies received and issued as change to customers to ensure accuracy

·         Issue receipts and change due to customers

·         Answer customers' questions and provide information

·         Compute and records totals of transactions

·         Calculate total payment received during a time period and reconcile this with total sales

·         Sorts, counts and wraps currency and coins

·         Wraps/packages goods when required

Observe all Occupational Safety and Health regulations as per company policy

·         Any other related duties as assigned
