Buying Supervisor

 Applications are invited for the position of Buying Supervisor for our Purchasing Department.

The Buying Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that products are available in stores as per range plan and are displayed in a manner that will be attractive to customers.

 Duties include:

• Analysing of product performance based on promotions
• Conducting branch visits to review and report on price tickets, floor layout/displays and back up stocking levels
• Making recommendations for sales activity to clear damaged repossessed, aged stock including Stock Clearance and warehouse sales
• Nominating products for advertising and branch promotions.
• Monitoring the distribution of items to the branches
• Reviewing advertisements (Press & TV) ensuring that there are no errors.
• Analysing weekly sales for respective product categories and recommending sales and marketing initiatives to ensure that budgeted sales are achieved on weekly basis.
• Suggesting and discussing promotional activity to assist in achieving the sales budget in conjunction with the buyer.

 Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma in Business/Management Studies or related discipline or Certificate in Business
• 5 O’ Levels including Mathematics & English Language
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Two (2) years’ experience in the Purchasing/Logistics preferably in a Retail environment
• Must be organized, detail-oriented with a strong customer focus
• Must be able to cope well in stress-related environments
• Must possess analytical and problem-solving and negotiation skills
