Brand PR Manager
J. Wray & Nephew Ltd, A Gruppo Campari Company, is seeking to recruit a
Brand PR Manager for its Marketing Department.
Position
The Brand PR Manager is responsible for the development and management of the brand communication programmes including consumer relations, trade, public and media relations, copywriting and educational programmes. The position is responsible for adapting Communications Programmes for the Jamaican market and maintaining the media archives for the company as it relates to coverage of the Company’s brands. It also manages special projects on behalf of the Marketing Department as it relates to customers, consumers, media and partner relations in Jamaica.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
Conceptualize, develop and implement public relations strategies and programmes for the Company’s owned and agency brands.
Develop the brand public relations material required to include press releases, press kits, and presentations, creative copy for brochures etc. Ensure that all material produced is factual and technically correct.
Develop, liaise with and manage relationships with the media in Jamaica.
Initiate media opportunities and pitch concepts and ideas to secure positive exposure for the Company’s’ brands.
Develop and implement communication mitigation plan around brand related activities.
Manage the public relations aspect of all events and sponsorships undertaken to ensure maximum exposure for the Company’s brands in the media and relevant public(s)
Plan and execute press/media conferences and press/media launches.
Manage all public relations agencies used by the Company’s brands, including: traditional and non-traditional exposure.
Maintain media archive for the Company as it relates to the Company’s brands.
Sit on company’s Product Recall and Disaster Preparedness Committees.
Track, monitor and communicate the effectiveness of Brand PR activities.
Monitor and evaluate competitive PR landscape.
FUNCTIONS – Brand Portfolio - JWN
Prepare and manage the Public Relations budget for the brand portfolio for marketing.
Conceptualize, develop and implement public relations strategies, programmes and toolkits for the JWN brand portfolio.
Manage all press/media trips, journalist visits, television and other media shoots for the JWN Portfolio.
Manage and develop the brand public relations material required for JWN Portfolio including press releases, press kits, and presentations, creative copy for brochures, videos and flyers. Ensure that all material produced is factual and technically correct.
Initiate media opportunities and pitch concepts and ideas to secure positive exposure for the Company’s brands.
Manage, develop and implement the Brand’s Digital strategy
Provide support to other Gruppo Campari Public Relations and Brand Managers as it relates to the JWN brands.
Key Relationships
Internal: Marketing Team, Commercial Department, Corporate Affairs, Master Blender and Senior Blender.
External: Distributor Staff, PR Agencies, Advertising, Marketing and other Support Agencies, Independent Journalist, Media Houses, Suppliers, key influencers and Public Officials
Requirements
- At least five (5) years management experience in a position with heavy focus on media and communications
- Experience in Project Management
- A background in Beverage Company would be an asset.
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent with an emphasis in Journalism, English or Marketing.
- Graduate degree in Communications or Business Administration desirable
