BHAGWANSINGH’S HARDWARE & STEEL INDUSTRTIES LIMITED

In the early 1960s Hubert & Helen Bhagwansingh identified a small piece of land in Port of Spain and started the hardware operation which today has grown into five retail outlets strategically located across the country in the areas of Sea Lots, Trincity, Chaguanas, Marabella and La Romain popularly called “ BHAGWANSINGH’S”.

In 1979 fire ravaged our original Sea Lots location and we lost all our stocks. With tenacity of purpose we rebuilt and faced many challenges over the years with business and family issues. Together we focused on success in business not only for profits but the lives of all the employees and their families. This gave us the impetus to press forward and today there is no turning back. We feel committed to our employees and the community hence the reason we remain in business.

Our perseverance saw us grow from a “one room shack” to five strategically located, well managed, and well-stocked and rapidly growing locations. We are now a household name in Trinidad as well as in the Caribbean, Latin America & the Netherlands Antilles. We currently carry an inventory of over 50, 000 items with a fully computerized inventory management system.

Our management structure includes Finance, Information Technology, Inventory Management, Human Resources, Procurement, Intake & Distribution, Retail and Wholesale.

As the years went by we expanded our wings from the traditional hardware store to an almost household/decorator’s dream shop and an unforgettable, jaw dropping Christmas Shop for which we have become well known and for building from foundation to finish. Today we are located along the length and breath of the country, highly visible and easily accessed.

Our corporate philosophy has always been to treat everyone fairly and equally and to maintain a hands-on business approach, never loosing touch with the common man from whence we came.
