BIOMEDICAL TECHNICIAN
GLENDON HOSPITAL,
(TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE), MoHSS
The Government of Montserrat is seeking to recruit a Biomedical Technician, Glendon Hospital, within the Ministry of Health and Social Services. The Biomedical Technician is expected to provide expert technical support in performing repairs, services, safety testing, installation, commissioning and planned preventative maintenance of biomedical equipment in accordance with current standards, codes and procedures.
CANDIDATES QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE PROFILE
The Candidate must be able to demonstrate the skills, knowledge and experience summarised below:
BSc in Biomedical Equipment, Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
At least 3-5 years related experience in a hospital/healthcare environment.
Computer skills, Microsoft Office, Database, Excel
Must be experienced in the repair, calibration and use of general medical equipment
Experience in the repair, calibration and use of x-ray and imaging equipment
Experience in the Operating Theatre environment and equipment associated with this area
Confidence in own professional knowledge to work independently
Good oral and written skills
Good interpersonal skills
Tolerance of resource-scarce working situations and able to improvise using available resources.
Tolerance of small island community living
Positive, motivational personality
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENGAGEMENT
The terms and conditions applicable for this appointment include:
A commencing appointment in November 2014 for a period of two (2) years;
The total remuneration package covering basic salary, housing for the post of Biomedical Technician is EC$75,000.00 (taxable) per annum. In addition, a transport allowance for the maintenance of a vehicle will be paid at the rate of $9,600.00 per annum. The transport allowance is not taxable.
