BAKERY/DELI SUPERVISOR

 

The Hi-Lo Food Stores Division of GK Foods & Services Ltd

is seeking experienced and passionate team members for the following roles:

 

PRODUCE & MEAT SUPERVISOR (Montego Bay & Negril)

 

Purpose of Job:

The Produce & Meat Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of the Meat and Produce Departments’ operations, under the supervision of the Store Manager.  The incumbent’s task is to ensure that the departments achieve economic goals and that customers are consistently afforded fresh, quality products in a clean, friendly atmosphere.

 

Key Competencies and Special Requirements

 

  • Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a supermarket Produce/Meat department operation
  • Secondary education with a passing grade in at least four (4) subjects, including English Language and Mathematics
  • At least one (1) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Efficient, organized work habits with a demonstrated interest in food products and preparation
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows Applications including Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of a Retail Software would be an asset.
  • A valid Food Handler’s Permit

 

 

BAKERY/DELI SUPERVISOR (Montego Bay)

 

Purpose of Job:

Reporting to the Store Manager, the Bakery Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the management of all operations within the bakery including staffing, stock, increasing sales and controlling expenses, customer satisfaction, service, quality and cleanliness; maintenance of the company’s standards of quality and outstanding customer service.

.

 

Key Competencies and Special Requirements:

 

  • Diploma or Certificate in Supervisory Management/Business Studies and 4 CXC or

GCE subjects including Mathematics and English Language

  • Certificate in Food Preparation/Customer Service
  • Minimum 2 years’  work experience in a similar capacity
    • Efficient, organized work habits with demonstrated interest in food products and preparation
    • Strong customer orientation with excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and team building skills
    • Team player with a high drive to achieve results
    • Ability to work well under pressure
    • Valid Food Handler’s Permit

 

 

DELI ASSISTANT (Montego Bay)

 

Purpose of Job:

Reporting to the Bakery Supervisor, the Deli Assistant is responsible for the preparation, packaging, pricing and displaying of all deli products and side dishes for sale. Deli Assistant is also responsible for keeping Deli and Bakery clean and up to Health Code standard.

 

Key Competencies and Special Requirements:

 

  • NVQ-J Level 2 Certificate in Food Preparation/Customer Service or 3 CXC or GCE

Subjects

  • Minimum 6 months- 1 year  work experience in a similar capacity
    • Efficient, organized work habits with a demonstrate interest in food products and preparation
    • Strong customer orientation with good oral communication skills
    • Team player with a high drive to achieve results
    • Valid Food Handler’s Permit
