DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Participates in the compilation and development of curricula;
• Prepares and delivers lectures to students within prescribed curriculum;
• Supervises students’ research projects;
• Reviews students’ research papers, Master’s and Doctoral dissertations as an evaluator, and participates in defence boards;
• Compiles methodological materials and teaching aids for subjects (groups of subjects);
• Participates in the training process of a new generation of researchers in his/her area of expertise;
• Leads academic research projects/ programmes;
• Develops and maintains relationships with other universities, research institutions and companies;
• Participates in research conferences and seminars;
• Submits reports about teaching activities, publications and research;
• Provides service to the University and/or community/society.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering from a recognised University Institution or other terminal degree with relevant combination of experience and training
• Minimum of three (3) years actively involved in teaching and research in an institution of higher learning
• Demonstrated scholarly activity such as publications, presentations etc.

• Ability to demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge (both theory and practice) in the subject field or discipline
• Demonstrated competence with course content
• Sound knowledge of creative and pedagogical skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of research methodologies
• Excellent communication (both orally and written) and interpersonal skills
• Understanding and use of statistics
• Strong analytical and leadership skills
• Demonstrated commitment to professional excellence and continuous growth within subject field or discipline, including advanced teaching methods to support student learning and career objectives
• Demonstrated potential for scholarly productivity

• Ability to work with campus-based personnel and students
