The incumbent will work along with the General Manager, Corporate Banking to achieve the strategic business objectives of the Unit. In addition, he/she will be responsible for business development, deal pipeline growth and execution, monitoring operational deficiencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Submits accurate and comprehensive credit and capital market proposals to the Executive Management or Board Credit Committee for approval.
Develops and monitors marketing programs to aggressively market the Bank’s Corporate and Capital Markets products in order to expand the Bank’s Corporate portfolio.
Maintains and controls delinquency on accounts in order to avoid placement in the non-performing Portfolio of the Bank’s ledger.
Manages the Bank’s Corporate Cash Management Services.
Detects financial and/or managerial problems that may arise with Corporate Accounts and takes prompt corrective action.
Ensures effective management of the customer service and Sales components of the business to enhance the Group’s competitive advantage.
Ensures compliance with Group policies and procedures and with the Financial Institution Act (FIA).
Manages the relationships between the Group and the regulatory authorities.
Manages risk control/reduction initiatives for the Corporate Banking Unit.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidate must possess a Post-graduate degree in Social Sciences from a reputable University or other professional qualification from a recognized body e.g. CFA, CIMA, ACCA. A minimum of ten (10) years progressive experience in banking, with at least seven (7) years at a Senior Managerial level OR First degree and a minimum of twelve (12) years relevant experience in Banking at a Senior Management Level with a successful track record of performance. The ideal candidate should also have strong credit risk, internal control and technical experience.
