Prepares the monthly bank reconciliations for assigned accounts in accordance with established schedules but not limited to:
Verifying the accuracy of bank statements
Maintaining the integrity of cash balances by ensuring daily banking reconciliation balances
Reconciles all sub-ledgers with the General Ledger Control Account, in accordance with established deadlines
Ensures the timely remittance of statutory payments
Generates and provides assistance in preparing all required reports, including but not limited to the monthly Directors’ reports and general reports for the Sales & Marketing Directors, in a timely and accurate manner
Assists with ensuring the accuracy and timely closure of monthly management accounts, including the preparation and posting of journals, in accordance with established schedules
Performs analysis of assigned Balance Sheet accounts and P&L accounts
Ensures that both local and foreign supplier reconciliations are completed in accordance with established deadlines, and are sent for review and approval by the relevant company personnel in a timely manner.
Ensures that the payment projection report is prepared in an accurate and efficient manner, and that such report is submitted to the Financial Controller in accordance with established deadlines
Prepares and issues debit notes to Principals, for general as well as expired stock, within the established deadlines and ensures that debit notes agree with the general ledger, and that any differences are accounted for
Assists in ensuring the timely collection of principal receivable balances
Ensures that all required information is received by the External Auditors within the period specified
QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES
Undergraduate Degree in Finance, Business Management, Accounting or a related field
ACCA Qualification or its' equivalent
At least three (3) to five (5) years accounting experience
In-depth knowledge of Accounting practices
Proven ability to coach, guide, motivate and support team members
Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills
Detail oriented, ability to multi-task
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be flexible, ability to work well with others
Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
