Job Summary

The Assessment Specialist is responsible for supporting the Trinidad and Tobago Diamond Standard Programme in the successful execution of its activities. The primary role of the incumbent will be to effectively manage and implement the Diamond Division’s Assessment and Accreditation activities. The incumbent will also actively monitor, analyse and report on the progress of the initiative to internal and external stakeholder at minimum on a monthly basis.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Provide client agencies with technical support and guidance in development and implementation of Service Charters and Service Improvement Plans. The job involves Managing the Assessment and Accreditation of services by:

Developing channels to conduct and provide timely feedback on informal assessment done at client agencies;

Collect, verifying, analyze and report on external stakeholders feedback;

Engage with internal staff and service providers to facilitate and manage external Assessors training;

Develop forms and other mechanisms that will allow for the professional and timely management of Assessor work schedules as it relates to on-site visits, interviews and the submission of oral and written reports;

Engage and ensure that the external Audit process is conducted in a manner that will allow for quality feedback;

Develop, train and implement all stakeholders on the requirements of the certification process;

Plan and Coordinate the Diamond Award ceremonies this include the management of assigned budgets, liaising and negotiating with vendors, speech writers, facilities management, protocol officers etc.

Prepare for submission monthly Monitoring and Evaluation Reports in respect of each Diamond certified Agencies;

Maintain and Update databases and generate reports as required;

Contribute to the vision of the Division by attending meeting and facilitating when required presentations;

Engage in any other activities and projects that support the work of the Division and the Ministry.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

BSc in Social Sciences / Humanities / Management / Science & Technology/Customer Service Management or related discipline;

Minimum of three (3) years’ practical experience in the implementation of Assessment and Customer Service Improvement programmes

Certification in Train the Trainer will be considered an asset.

Required Competencies, Skills and Abilities

Sound knowledge of assessment techniques and practices

Excellent communication skills that support the facilitation of one on one and group discussions and presentations; conflict management and events management

Working knowledge on activities that support change management interventions;

Sound decision making so as to make timely recommendations on the assessment process;

Proven research & analytical skills

Proven Report Writing and Oral communication skills

Ability to build and maintain relationships

Proven ability to team and collaborate with a cross section of internal and external stakeholders
