ASSEMBLY CLERKS

Production Department

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Operating machines (clam shell ovens and open flame machines) to manufacture items sold by the Company
• Ensuring products are properly finished; this includes cleaning the product, installing fittings and removing trimmings
• Preparing and removing finished products from the Production Floor to the holding area
• Monitoring machines during cycles
• Reporting malfunctions of machines
• Weighing resin to load onto machines
• Cleaning of moulds, including cleaning all equipment used to clean moulds
• Cleaning and reapplication of mould release to moulds
• Cleaning of all equipment used during shift
• Cutting up of defective products and sending for re-grind
• General housekeeping duties in the Department
• Ensuring that resin boxes are completely empty before the boxes are removed from the Department
• Cleaning scales after use, including sweeping up any resin that may have spilled while weighing

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 3 CXC passes:  must have Mathematics and English

• Must be able to work shift (including weekends and Public holidays, as needed)

• Experience in Rotational Moulding would be an asset

• Experience in extrusion and granulators would be an asset

• Knowledge of and ability to operate PLC controlled machines would be an asset

• At least three (3) Character References (not from persons related to you; at least 1 must be from a previous employer)

• Police Certificate of Character (not more than 6 months old)

• 1 passport size picture

Hours of work

The normal hours of work in the Production Department are as follows on a rotation basis Monday to Friday:

• 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

• 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

   

  There are instances when the Department works 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and 12 hour shifts, as needed, due to demand.  Employees are expected to work as scheduled.

   

The normal hours of work in the Raw Materials and Injection / Blow Moulding Departments are as follows on a rotation basis Monday to Sunday:

• 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

• 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

   

  There are instances when the Departments work an Eight (8) hour day instead of Twelve (12) hours due to a reduced work load; there are also instances when they only work Monday to Friday due to reduced work load.  Employees are expected to work as scheduled.

   

  Compensation

   

              Production Department

   

• $25.00 per hour (starting rate)

• $15.00 shift allowance for each shift worked

• $15.00 heat allowance for each night shift worked
