Accounts Receivables & Payables Officer

A leading manufacturing and distribution company in Kingston is seeking an Accounts Receivables & Payables Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage accounts receivable and payable transactions, including invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely collection of payments.
  • Verify and reconcile vendor invoices and statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and process payments.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist in month-end closing activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding accounts payable and receivable issues.
  • Assist with audit preparations and provide necessary documentation to auditors.
  • Support the finance team (locally & internationally) with other accounting tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or Sage.
  • Proven experience in accounts receivable and payable functions.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
