Accountant
We are currently accepting applications on behalf of our client to fill the following vacancy:
"ACCOUNTANT"
The primary responsibility of the applicant will be to prepare the financial statements of the group and its subsidiaries, perform analytical reviews, assist with the preparation of the groups budgets, assist with the maintenance of the firms’ system of internal control, and other financial activities of the group.
The ideal candidate will be hard working, trustworthy, energetic and flexible, and capable of multi-tasking with specific knowledge and experience with Sage 50 and QuickBooks.
As this position involves a high degree of accuracy the candidate should have keen attention to detail and accuracy and meticulous organisational skills. The candidate must be highly motivated, a self starter able to work independently, and willing to make a serious commitment to providing quality work.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out external audit assignments and liaising with clients;
- Supervision of junior accounting staff;
- Management of the firm and its subsidiaries’ accounting records;
- Develop, maintain and analyse budgets, and prepare periodic reports comparing budgeted costs to actual costs;
- Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, amortization and depreciation schedules, and other financial reports;
- Establishe table of accounts and assigns entries to proper accounts;
- Prepare monthly financial statements;
- Plan and supervise annual audit process;
- Inspect account records and systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions;
- Analyse data for deficient controls, duplicated effort, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations and management policies;
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- ACCA certification
- Minimum of three (3) to four (4) years accounting experience preferred
- Former experience with a Big Four accounting firm will be an asset.
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, QuickBooks and Peachtree
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organization and time management skills
