The successful candidate will assist with leading a team in all aspects of the Company growth, performance and profitability. He/she must have the ability to plan, direct and co-ordinate credit operations. They must have the ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve optimum performance. Knowledgeable about the complete credit approval process would be an asset. Strong customer service, administrative and accounting skills required. Proven track record in commercial banking, microfinance or other lending organization would be an asset.
Core Functions
- Assist with the strategic direction, coordination and management of the activities of the Company.
- Establish the appropriate controls and procedures to ensure that the Company’s operation is maximizing the use of its resources and operating as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- Address complaints and resolve internal and external concerns as a matter of top priority.
- Manage daily credit operation activities, ensuring adherence to deadlines and providing daily support to staff and resolution to day-to-day operational issues/problems.
- Improve the Company’s profitability by actively soliciting prospects and making cost effective expenditure decisions.
- Foster in employees, a strong commitment to client service and satisfaction.
- Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports with a view to maintaining a high standard of compliance, individual performance, client service, client development and client retention.
- Ensure that the infrastructure is maintained.
The preferred minimum qualifications/skills are:-
- At least 2-3 years Credit and/or Operations experience with at least 2 years at a Managerial/Supervisory level
- BSc in Business, Accounts or Finance
- Strong ability to execute policies, procedures and related controls
- Excellent accounting, operations and risk management skills
- Highly developed planning, analytical, decision-making, problem solving and coordinating skills
- The ability to communicate well with a variety of audiences
