TRUCK DELIVERY DRIVER (Class 5 License)

We are currently looking for a team player to fill the position of Delivery/Truck Driver.

KEY DUTIES:

1. Container Pickup and Delivery: Transporting shipping containers between various locations such as ports, warehouses, distribution centers, and customer sites.
2. Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload containers onto and off the truck using appropriate equipment such as cranes, forklifts, or container handlers. Ensure that containers are properly secured for transport.
3. Route Planning: Plan the most efficient routes for container delivery, considering factors such as traffic conditions, road restrictions, and delivery schedules. Coordinate with dispatchers to optimize delivery routes.
4. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of container deliveries, including pickup and drop-off times, container numbers, seal numbers, and any other relevant documentation required for shipping and logistics purposes.
5. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures related to container handling, truck operation, and cargo securement. This includes following safety protocols when operating equipment and securing containers for transport.
6. Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the truck and any equipment used for container handling. Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly to ensure the truck remains in safe operating condition.
7. Communication: Maintain open communication with dispatchers, shipping agents, terminal operators, and other stakeholders to coordinate container pickups and deliveries, provide updates on delivery status, and address any issues or delays that may arise.
8. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients during container pickups and deliveries. Address any customer concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally.
9. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and requirements related to container transport, including weight limits, container stacking regulations, and hazardous materials transportation regulations.
10. Flexibility: Be flexible and adaptable to changes in schedules, routes, or delivery requirements, and be willing to work long hours or irregular shifts as needed to meet customer demands and shipping schedules.

Required Education and Training:

• Must possess a valid Extra Heavy T driver's permit - Class 5 minimum. 
• Minimum of 3 years relevant driving experience.   
• Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail and ability to multi­task.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
