SNR. FOOD SAFETY QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

The Snr. Food Safety Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager will be required to provide strategic leadership for new product development, Food Safety, Quality Assurance and regulatory compliance.  This position ensures rigorous adherence to policies and procedures and provides strong leadership with respect to initiatives that ensure that the FSQA standards are maintained across the supply chain, from suppliers to customers.   The incumbent for this role will establish and maintain strong partnerships with Operations Management (Restaurants), Production, Purchasing and Compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

1. Provide excellent leadership to inspire and influence the FSQA & other teams with respect to food safety, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
2. Develop & execute company-wide systems and plans pertaining to Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Sanitation.
3. Determine best metrics to identify FSQA issues, monitor performance and make necessary changes to ensure continuous improvement.
4. Conduct hazard analysis, and establish preventative measures; monitor procedures and incidents and remedial actions.  Work with key stakeholders to ensure the FSQA strategy is in alignment with targeted business outcomes. 
5. Build and lead with respect to internal and external FSQA auditing programs for the Restaurants. 
6. Provide oversight to supplier management reviews and performance monitoring.  Work along with key stakeholders on FSQA related clauses for supplier contracts.
7. Establish relationships with regulatory agencies, external organizations, and suppliers and represent Company accordingly.  Serve as subject matter expert relating to food safety.
8. Develop and implement well-structured Quality Assurance Education Program for all functions to include refresher program.
9. Develop and lead with respect to internal and external restaurant FSQA auditing programs.
10. Provide strong leadership with respect to the implementation and maintenance of Quality Assurance systems aligned to industry standards, such as GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000 and ISO 9001.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a relevant field
2. Extensive experience working with and developing Food Safety Plans and Preventative Controls, HACCP, sanitation and product testing
3. Minimum of five (5) years in FSQA, and/or food manufacturing with management experience
4. Minimum 3 years’ experience in senior management role
5. ISO Management System and PCQI Certification would be advantageous
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
7. Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills
8. Excellent Analytical, Problem Solving and Decision-Making Skills
9. Excellent Planning and Organizational Skills
