The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for building and maintaining the customer relationships that are the foundation of Ashley HomeStore’s retail sales success. The incumbent is also responsible for exceeding the weekly sales target assigned.

Ashley Furniture HomeStore seeks to identify suitably qualified individuals to fill the abovementioned post.

 

Duties and Responsibilties

  • Ensures guests are always treated in a cordial, respectful manner, representing the Ashley brand image. Maintains a visible presence at the front desk and personally interacts with customers. Resolves escalated customer issues in a professional, helpful way that strikes the proper balance between customer satisfaction and financial responsibility.
  • Completes Ashley Sales Training Course and consistently uses Ashley 8-Step Selling Tools.
  • Achieves targets (daily, weekly and monthly sales, and Supa Shield)
  • Attends daily sales coaching.
  • Attends weekly sales meeting.
  • keeps customers advised of delivery issues.
  • Answers the telephone promptly and courteously.
  • Explains terms and conditions of the Ashley Advantage contract clearly to the customer.
  • Ensures accuracy of all documents pertaining to the customer’s purchase and credit applications
  • Prepares documents to facilitate: Rewrite, Refunds, Exchanges, Collect & Credit, Charge & Deliver.
  • Records complaints - update files and correctly log details onto the company’s International Repair Information System (CIRIS) and Customer Interaction screen in Cosacs.
  • Handles customer inquiries regarding sales, billing and delivery. Communicates updates to customers within a timely manner. Resolves customer issues in a professional, helpful way. Schedules product deliveries when needed.
  • Ensures sales orders are processed accurately and efficiently. Collect transaction documentation for customer credit applications and financing arrangements and submit to Office Manager/Customer Service Manager or General Manager. Documentation will be processed by Credit Department.
  • Maintains assigned areas in the showroom (includes signage, tagging and maintaining condition of displays)
  • Creates an engaging, positive working environment.
  • Maintains high levels of knowledge on all Ashley products, promotions and store functions.
  • Demonstrates the company’s core and growth values in performance of all job functions.

 

Required Education & Experience 

  • Tertiary level education, preferably a Degree or Associates Degree in Sales and Marketing, Customer Service or Business Management Studies.
  • 2 – 3 years sales, customer service or marketing experience
  • History of demonstrated superlative customer service.
  • Knowledge of Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Business Management.
  • Knowledge of standard retail customer service and sales policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Exceptional detail-oriented, time management and organizational skills, with ability to multitask and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Highly self motivated
  • Exceptional work ethic - target driven
  • Strong oral and written communication, as well as good listening skills.
