As a strategic partner and member of the Management Team, the Marketing & Business Development Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the PSOJ’s growth and impact and will focus on diversifying income streams, fostering business development, and membership engagement, through strategic sales initiatives, and maximizing member value. This position combines a strong sales-driven philosophy and culture, strategic thinking, relationship management, and marketing expertise to enhance membership growth and engagement, create organizational sustainability through diversified means of income, and elevate the organization’s brand as the premier private sector organization in Jamaica.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing business development strategies to increase revenue and membership base.
  • Identifying and assessing the viability of business development opportunities and commercial and grant support requirements which are contemplated by the organization.
  • Writing project prospectuses and proposals for bilateral and multilateral funding and/or partnerships with private and public sector partners.
  • Developing, managing and maintaining mutually beneficial partnerships with key stakeholders with the goal of bridging their programme interest with those of the PSOJ’s business development programme and strategic objectives.
  • Developing unique sales and marketing communications strategies and operational plans for the Department to drive revenue growth.
  • Responsible for budgeting, monitoring income and expenditure, and developing funding and income generation activities for all membership development activities, including developing partnerships with organizations and enterprises to support membership activities.
  • Building, advancing and actively replenishing a pipeline of prospective members in order to achieve new member recruitment goals.
  • Managing the development and successful execution of all marketing and brand management initiatives to meet the objectives outlined in the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Managing the execution of all events for the PSOJ, its Committees, and other stakeholders.

 

Qualifications and Competencies

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Communications, Sales and Marketing and/or Public Relations.
  • Graduate degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or related business discipline would be an asset.
  • A minimum of five (5) years proven work experience in marketing and/or sales and/or member management at a senior level.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including strong speech writing presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent customer relations, negotiating, and people management skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong linkages with stakeholders in government agencies, private, regional, and international agencies. Must be social media marketing savvy and able to leverage social media platforms with a proven track record of harnessing social media for outreach and value-added engagement.
  • Vibrant and self-motivated team player/builder.
  • Own and operate a reliable motor vehicle.
