Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HR & Facilities Administrator to manage our company's human resource function, including recruiting, learning and development, talent management, and ensuring compliance with Jamaican labour laws. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of Jamaica's labour laws and regulations, be capable of effectively applying them, and have strong conflict resolution skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure adherence to all relevant labour laws and regulations in Jamaica, staying updated on any changes or amendments. Apply this knowledge to HR practices and policies, ensuring legal compliance in all aspects of employment.
  2. Assess staffing and training needs. Develop and implement resource person presentations and training programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities, promoting professional development and organizational growth.
  3. Handle employee grievances and disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies and labour laws.
  4. Conduct investigations, implement disciplinary measures when necessary, and ensure fair treatment of employees.
  5. Foster positive employee relations by addressing concerns, facilitating communication between employees and management, and promoting a healthy work environment.
  6. Utilize strong conflict resolution skills to effectively manage and resolve employee disputes and grievances.
  7. Develop and oversee performance appraisal processes, ensuring fairness, consistency, and alignment with company goals. Provide guidance to managers on conducting effective performance evaluations.
  8. Oversee facilities-related functions, including maintenance, security, safety, and office space management. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure a safe, functional, and comfortable work environment.
  9. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards. Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed. Coordinate emergency preparedness and response procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • BSc in Human Resources or similar relevant field.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the HR field, preferably in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Jamaican labour laws.
  • Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.

  • Knowledge of Employee relations and engagement strategies.

Salary: $1,800,000.00 - $2,760,000.00 gross per annum
