JOB SUMMARY

To ideal candidate will provide exceptional internal and external customer service as per Company standards. Obtain or receive merchandise, total bills, accept payment, and make change for customers in retail store, process sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, operating cash registers, generating sales, merchandising and safeguarding Company assets. Ensure all duties support the effective and efficient operations of the retail store. 

The position requires shift work including weekends and public holidays. Due to the nature of the job, the Employee may be required to work for other periods and hours as the Company shall determine. The Company shall give the Employee reasonable notice where the Employee is expected to work beyond his/her usual working hours

JOB DUTIES

  • Provide exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable service to all customers
  • Maintain a clean store environment and assist with housekeeping
  • Monitor stock levels and replenish and merchandise all products
  • Provide assistance and advice about products and services to customers
  • Answer customer’s questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise
  • Recommend, select and explain use, operation and care of merchandise to customers
  • Resolve customer queries and complaints
  • Communicate customer requests to management and place special orders or call other stores to find desired items
  • Tag price on merchandise and complete price changes for all products within the store
  • Set up advertising/promotions displays or arrange merchandise on counters or shelves to promote sales
  • Answer phone and assist customer with queries
  • Maintain an awareness and knowledge of all sales, discounts, promotions and advertisements of the Company
  • Check inventory daily for damages and expiries
  • Count inventory for audit purposes
  • Cash items at point of sale
  • Ensure products are packed and handed to customers at check out
  • Maintain orderly appearance of register area
  • Balance and reconcile cash draw at end of shift 
  • Do customer returns with Manager’s approval
  • Package all customer purchases and deliveries
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • Three (3) O’ level passes including Mathematics and English
  • Computer Literacy
  • 2 years previous retail or customer service experience.

  • Resilient, with ability to maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations

  • Ability to work alone or as a part of a team
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers.

  • Must be able to pull, push and lift sometimes awkward objects
