As the Crewing Officer, you will be responsible for managing the crew across the fleet of vessels, ensuring that they are all fully crewed and have the appropriate skills and qualifications and are met in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

POSITION:                            CREWING OFFICER

 

MAIN PURPOSE:                As the Crewing Officer, you will be responsible for managing the crew across the fleet of                                                 vessels, ensuring that they are all fully crewed and have the appropriate skills and                                                         qualifications and are met in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  1. Coordinating crew changes for vessels
  2. Organizing transport for crew embarking and disembarking vessels
  3. Organizing crew personnel to conduct training, medicals, PCR test and drug testing and other test required by the Clients
  4. Update Crew Schedule
  5. Submission of crew listings to payroll department
  6. Enlisting and communication with Oversea Agents and for vessels working in the Caribbean, for crew changes, of expats and crew members, Hotel arrangements.
  7. Liaising with Agent for crew personnel to and from the Airport
  8. Recruiting Expats form Agencies or directly
  9. Completing Crew Matrix for tenders
  10. Requesting flights for Expats to our operational vessels
  11. Communicating with Transport Supervisor via email, phone and WhatsApp for time schedules relating to groceries, crewing, employee medicals etc.
  12. Grocery orders to be fulfilled to vessels on a timely manner as per vessel calendar or commercial requirements
  13. Facilitation of emergency crew change needs.

In the interim, assistance with the following duties will be required on an ‘as and when required’ basis:

  • Fuel applications for vessels in Chaguaramas
  • Enlisting agents to obtain approvals for fuel loading on vessels
  • Recording keeping of fuel and water reports for all working vessels

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge

The incumbent must have knowledge in the following areas:

  • Have understanding of Marine Industry regulatory and certification legislation including but not limited to ISM Code, STCW and MLC 2006.
  • Office Administration
  • Marine certifications and licences
  • HSE Standards and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Marine/Business Management or equivalent certificate from a recognised Institution.
  • Knowledge of the maritime and/ or offshore industry is an advantage
  • At least 5 years of experience in Crew Manning Services responsible for crew planning and deployment or a related field
