Seeking qualified Accounting Service Provider.

The Accounting Service Provider will be responsible for:

Financial Management:

  • Oversee financial transactions in accordance with the Exchequer and Audit Act of Trinidad and Tobago.
  • Process vendor/supplier payments for goods and services rendered within established payment terms.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and governmental accounting standards.
  • Assist with the development and implementation finance and accounting policies and procedures.

Payroll Management:

  • Coordinate payroll activities, including processing salaries and benefits for employees.
  • Ensure accurate calculations of statutory deductions such as income tax, national insurance contributions pension contribution and other relevant deductions/contributions.
  • Keep abreast of changes in relevant legislation and regulations, implementing necessary adjustments accordingly.

Management Accounting:

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports to aid in decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information to support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Plans and prepares Annual Budgets in accordance with established deadlines.
  • Conduct variance analysis and performance evaluation to assess the financial health of the organization.
  • Ensure that the organization’s Fixed Asset register is accurately maintained and ensure adherence to the procedure for the transfer and disposal of Fixed Assets within the organization.

Financial Reporting:

  • Maintain documentation and records to support financial transactions and reporting obligations, preparing reports as required.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements as necessary.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Establish and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard assets and prevent fraud or misappropriation.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies through regular monitoring and compliance assessments.
  • Provide advice to senior management on matters such as budget formulation, expenditure control, and revenue optimization.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements and efficiencies to enhance financial performance and accountability.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Professional Accounting Qualification – ACCA/CMA.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Eight (8) years’ experience performing senior accounting duties including at least four (4) years at the managerial level in the public service.
  • Sound knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Standards and statutory reporting governing the public service.
  • Sound knowledge of the Exchequer and Audit Act and other financial regulations.
  • Knowledge of best practices in management reporting and internal controls in a financial entity.

Or

  • An equivalent combination of qualifications and experience will be considered.
