Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

The BIA will be responsible for the development and maintenance of Business Intelligence dashboards using Microsoft Power BI that will be accessible to all our locations. The BIA will work closely with business users from the Underwriting and Claims department to perform an in-depth analysis of data to highlight critical issues and draw possible conclusions about the cause. He/she will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns in data sets, that may be used by management to make business decisions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and share data visualization and transform data into innovative dashboard designs.
  • Create and maintain online automated reports using Power BI; update and maintain Excel and SQL sources to ensure data quality.
  • Develop skills and leverage Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI to drive efficiency and deliver high-quality solutions. Coach other team members in report design, DAX , and other technologies.
  • Respond to and prioritize requests for analysis and reports from internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor trends over time and provide insights that support the active management of the business area
  • Ensure data integrity by implementing quality assurance practices, identifying missing data, and resolving any anomalies with the assistance of the IT Department
  • Monitor data warehouse to ensure the reliability and accuracy of information
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or a related analytical field
  • Experience in data analysis in insurance or financial services-related products.
  • Five (5) years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience in identifying data trends and formulating comparative analysis
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in a similar capacity
SPECIFIC SKILLS OR COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of general insurance principles and proficiency in reinsurance practices.
  • Ability to analyse and manipulate data to produce informative reports.
  • Possesses strong collaborative skills to effectively work in a team environment, coupled with the initiative to independently drive tasks.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office suite especially (Excel) at an advanced level
  • Great attention to detail, diligence, and results focused.
  • Proven experience of workload planning and delivery of key targets within a service environment.
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards learning and mastering new skills
