A leading pharmaceutical importer/distributor in south Trinidad is seeking to fill the position of Medical Representative.

Summary:

The Medical Representative is responsible for establishing and building relationships with Customers in the areas assigned.  He/She must possess an in-depth knowledge of the company’s products, uses, benefits, side effects, dosages, precautions and prices to achieve increased product awareness to Medical Practitioners, Pharmacies and Medical institutions by answering queries, providing credible information on existing products and competently introducing new products.

The Medical Representative is also responsible for meeting and exceeding assigned sales targets.

Key Duties:

1. Arrange appointments with doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists and Public and Private Institutions (pre-arranged or regular ‘cold’ calling).

1. Build and maintain positive working relationships with Medical and Administrative Staff.

1. Plan and execute meetings/conferences for Medical Practitioners and other health care professionals.

1. Assess the Medical Practitioners’ product preference.

1. Make presentations to Medical Practitioners to provide relevant product data to increase awareness of PCL’s products.

1. Present product information to Pharmacists with the aim of having them recommend our products.

1. Develop strategies for increasing opportunities to meet and talk to contacts in the healthcare sector.

1. Maintain detailed records of contacts for all clients.

1. Keep up to date with the latest clinical data supplied by the manufacturer/supplier.

1. Provide reports as required.

Education & Experience:

• BSc Biology, Pharmacy, Biochemistry or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar capacity.
  • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding targets will be an asset.
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical sales will be an asset.
