Our client is seeking a kitchen supervisor who will be accountable for overall kitchen operations, leading staff, improving guest satisfaction, maximizing financial performance, ensuring quality, guiding staff development, and maintaining sanitation and food standards.

Kitchen Supervisor (Permanent Full-Time)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field
  • Should possess at least 4 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • You may be required to work additional hours beyond the standard work week to meet project deadlines or address unexpected tasks
  • Proficient in kitchen operations, including menu development, food presentation, and decorative displays
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively manage and motivate teams
  • Ability to conduct performance appraisals, provide coaching and mentoring, and administer disciplinary procedures
  • Familiarity with budgeting processes and managing department expenses

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise kitchen management team and provide direction for day-to-day operations
  • Demonstrate versatility in employee positions and ensure fair and consistent administration of policies
  • Foster trust, respect, and cooperation among team members and serve as a role model for appropriate behavior
  • Review staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives
  • Conduct training sessions and demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment usage
  • Develop and implement guidelines for purchasing and receiving areas
  • Establish performance and budget goals and communicate safety procedures to staff
  • Manage department expenses, participate in budgeting processes, and ensure compliance with brand safety standards
  • Direct menu development and monitor food quality to meet standards
  • Maintain compliance with food handling and sanitation regulations
  • Prepare and cook various types of foods and oversee food storage standards
  • Provide support for exceptional customer service and resolve guest problems or complaints
  • Empower employees to deliver excellent service through training and feedback
  • Identify developmental needs of staff and provide coaching and mentoring
  • Administer performance appraisals and disciplinary procedures
  • Collaborate with F&B department on food knowledge training
  • Provide information to various stakeholders and analyze data to solve problems
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities such as adaptability, communication, problem-solving, and professionalism
  • Manage execution by building teams, driving results, and planning and organizing tasks
  • Build relationships with coworkers and customers while promoting a global mindset
  • Foster talent and organizational capability through talent management and applied learning
  • Exhibit technical acumen in culinary skills and knowledge
