The Gift Shop Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the gift shop's operations, including inventory management, sales, staff supervision, and customer service.

JOB DUTIES:

Inventory Management: 

   - Maintain adequate stock levels by monitoring inventory and placing orders as needed.

   - Oversee receiving, unpacking, and shelving of merchandise.

   - Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and prevent stock shortages.

 

Sales and Marketing:

   - Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize revenue and meet sales targets.

   - Create promotional campaigns, discounts, and special offers to attract customers.

   - Monitor sales trends and customer preferences to adjust inventory and marketing efforts accordingly.

 

Customer Service:

   - Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers, addressing inquiries, and resolving complaints.

   - Train staff on effective customer service techniques and ensure they adhere to company standards.

   - Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment to enhance the shopping experience.

 

Staff Management:

   - Recruit, hire, and train new employees, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.

   - Schedule staff shifts, manage payroll, and oversee employee performance evaluations.

   - Foster a positive work environment by providing guidance, support, and recognition to staff members.

 

Financial Management:

   - Develop and manage the gift shop budget, including forecasting sales, expenses, and profitability.

   - Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement to optimize profitability.

   - Implement cost-control measures and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to maximize profit margins.

 

Administrative Tasks:

   - Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, and expenses using appropriate software or systems.

   - Prepare reports, such as sales reports, inventory summaries, and financial statements, for management review.

   - Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations related to operations, safety, and security.

 

Vendor Relations:

   - Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of merchandise and favorable terms.

   - Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with vendors to secure the best deals for the gift shop.

   - Evaluate vendor performance and seek out new suppliers to diversify product offerings and improve profitability.

 

JOB PROFILE:

2 or more years of experience in Sales Management, Gift Shop Management or similar role.
Associates or Bacherlor's Degree in Business Administration or similar field
