Financial Data Analyst

Location:                     Port of Spain

Salary:                         TT$6,500.00 / month

Job Summary

The incumbent will be required to prepare financial reports that serve as summary information, identifying relevant insights and compiling analytical reports that will assist management in making sound decisions in a timely manner. This data science entry role will also aid in the development of the Bank’s data analytics function. Additional reporting to Credit and other departments will also be a required.

 

The incumbent in this position reports to the Chief Financial Officer. 

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Prepare Probability of Default Matrix.
  • Fair Value of Collateral Values.
  • Prepare Recovery Rates Calculation.
  • Prepare Expected Credit Loss Calculation.
  • May be required to perform any other related duties.
  • Track forex disbursements / allocations by client and date
  • Develop databases (utilizing various software systems) to improve program portfolio administration and efficiency
  • Utilize Alteryx software to assimilate and design data analysis automation protocols and tools.
  • Data analytics projects that could include database design, development and coding with the guidance of internal and external subject matter experts.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • ACCA Level II or any other related qualifications and five years progressive accounting experience or
  • BSc in Business Management, Actuarial Science, Statistics or other Data Science specialisations.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Familiarity with database design, development, and management systems (preferred)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prepare meaningful and informative special and regular financial and statistical reports.
  • Ability to perform detailed work involving written or numeric data and to make arithmetic calculations rapidly and accurately.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, managers, and other employees. 
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in researching and analyzing facts and arriving at conclusions.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to function effectively under stressful conditions. 
  • Ability to function in a technology-prevalent environment, utilizing computers and a variety of software as a work tool.
  • Ability to work on a team.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.

 

Working Environment

Work is performed in a temperature controlled modern office setting, mostly from a seated position at a modular workstation. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.

 

Tools and Equipment

Personal computer, telephone, printer, fax machine and scanner.
