Hardware & Lumber Ltd., a Jamaican company retailing and wholesaling building materials, home improvement supplies, household items and agricultural products, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of:

 BRANCH MANAGER - H&L AGRO

(Montego Bay and Mandevlle)

Purpose of the Role

To execute store operations and be responsible and accountable for performance through strong employee relations which successfully guides team members in delivering excellence in the customer’s experience to achieve and exceed sales and profitability targets.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Participate in the establishment of annual, quarterly and monthly sales and profitability budgeting and forecasting activities, and drive the achievement of performance objectives
  • Ensure the efficient execution of day-to-day branch operations to enable the achievement of agreed targets
  • Ensure that systems are in place to deliver a memorable experience for customers
  • Ensure employee engagement through efficient management and execution of related activities
  • Maintain inventory quality and levels to ensure service levels
  • Ensure that the branch is consistently represented in a professional manner through adherence to brand requirements and execution of the 5S methodology
  • Ensure adherence to safety and security guidelines, to include availability and use of personal protective equipment by all employees

 Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture, or equivalent
  • 3 years’ experience at a managerial/supervisory level in a retail environment
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
  • An understanding of the 5S Methodology is an asset
