ASSISTANT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER

1.                    JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Maintenance Engineer ensures that all maintenance activities concerning the highway are carried out in accordance with JNSHC’s standards and specifications. This person is responsible for the supervision, inspection and coordination of any maintenance project that is undertaken by the Sub-contractor.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Identify, assess and report construction defects along the motorway for rectification
• Prepare condition assessment Bi-annual report 
• Monitor the work progress of all maintenance projects of contractors to ensure work completion within deadline
• Prepare and administer work order contracts for maintenance projects both routine and emergency to contractors
• Assign weekly maintenance duties to Motorway Patrol Officers as well as ensuring that they are completed as mandated.
• Prepare monthly maintenance project reports
• Inspect, measure and approve the scope of works carried out
• Prepare the Annual Maintenance Plan

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervision of Motorway Patrol Officers, Maintenance Officers and Building Maintenance Officer.
• Communication with NROCC and Toll Authority based on guidance from Management regarding maintenance inclusive of letter preparation and responding to them, responding to Routine Surveillance Inspection Reports, submitting reports, submitting traffic management plans and representing the company at project meetings.
• To prepare cost estimates for various highway projects.

Knowledge of CAD & basic knowledge of leveling Equipment and at least 1 years’ working experience in the engineering/construction field would be
an asset.
