JOB OBJECTIVE

 The Tour Guide is responsible for accommodating all visitors, seeking to provide the best possible experience through effective and efficient customer service.

 TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• To conduct Great House Tours and log/assess flow of visitors to the Great House.
• To coordinate/oversee bookings for Great House Tours as directed.
• To assist in developing and /or reviewing content for Great House Tour preservation and cleaning of the artefacts.
• To provide technical support to the Great House and Promotion Marketing and Events Manager in planning and organizing internal and external marketing/promotion campaigns of the Heritage Site.
• To develop and review periodically, a register of all artefacts in the Great House.
• To assist with mounting and monitoring Devon House Exhibitions.
• To set up and maintain an effective programme for ancillary staff assigned to clean the Great House.
• Provide relief assistance to the Information Officer
• To ensure the Mansion is well kept and report all discrepancies to Housekeeping Supervisor.
• To perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 Other Responsibilities

• Undertaking such other function as may be reasonably assigned by the Marketing & Events Manager

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• A working knowledge of archival procedures
• Knowledge of basic computer systems
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, a good public speaker
• An aptitude to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work in a flexible manner.
• Excellent interpersonal skills 

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS/STANDARDS

• A high level of professionalism and integrity in keeping with established standards

 MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE

• At least two (2) years working experience in the related field
• Five (5) CXC/GCE O’ Level subjects including Mathematics and English Language

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Will be required to work beyond normal working hours as the need arises.
