MSME Sales Officer

The incumbent will be responsible for loan structuring and ensuring loans are properly maintained and supervised. The SME Officer will be required to analyse and process requests for clients and to manage a portfolio.

Major Job Duties:

• Assist in the preparation of the Sales Plan and budget for the Division
• Represent  LASMF at various fora and events to promote the products of LASMF
• Attend meetings within Division and with members of other Divisions and Departments to ensure the smooth flow of the overall operations of LASMF
• Scan and analyze the wider economic environment and advise on feasible business opportunities for and risks to LASMF
• Expands LASMF’s customer base by way of marketing and selling LASMF’s loan products to new clients
• Provides information and advice to prospective clients, existing clients and various lending agencies about the policies and procedures of LASMF with respect to its lending programmes
• Assesses loan applications and assists in their timely, accurate and efficient preparation for submission to the relevant approval authority
• Executes site visits to prospective clients to assess their operations in the development, execution and review of credit applications and reports on the prescribed site visit report form
• Ensures that all supporting documentation/legal documents accompanying loan applications are in good order and uploaded to Share Drive
• Analyses and prepares credit proposals within the guidelines of the applicable Credit Policy and Guidelines of LASMF, and underwriting Manual
• Check and sign off on credit proposal reports for submission
• Ensures that approved credits are processed and administered according to terms and conditions set out in the conditions of approval where applicable and as reflected in the relevant Letters of Commitment in keeping with stipulated credit monitoring requirements.
• Reviews all credit reports and sector studies prepared by the relevant agencies
• Meets all sales targets assigned by LASMF in keeping with its mandate
• Markets JN Bank by maintaining relationships with various associations and Local Commerce and by attending official meetings on LASMF’s behalf
• Conducts research and makes recommendations for changes to the loan portfolio mix as necessary
• Assists with the effective management of risk and the implementation of risk reduction strategies within LASMF

 Required Qualification/Skills/Competencies:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related discipline or Professional Accreditation plus 2 years’ experience in Business Loans Assessment.
• Formal Training in proposal preparation, interpretation and analysis of financial statements
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills particularly relating to credit assessment and recommendation
• In-depth knowledge of Credit Application Practices and Credit Administration Procedures
• Training in advanced Credit and Financial Appraisal Techniques
• Loan structuring and techniques as it relates to general Business Lending
• Knowledge of Management Principles and Practices
• Training or experience in supervisory management
• Effective communication (written and oral) skills
• Strong selling skills
• Ability to foster and maintain good human relations
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Solid knowledge of relevant IT applications
• Must own a reliable motor vehicle

This position requires you to travel. The successful candidate will work under various conditions subject to the different elements of nature. 

Location: Positions available Kingston & St. Andrew

Remuneration: Base pay with an opportunity to earn commission
