Preparation and management of less complex agreements, legal opinions and advice as well as assisting in the management legal and regulatory risks inclusive of negotiation, litigation, IP management and debt collection.
Responsibilities:
•Negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts, including distribution, co-packing and licensing agreements.
•Oversight of company's digital registers
•Conduct of research and the provision of legal advice.
•Negotiation and advice on projects.
•Provision of general legal advice relative to compliance, transactions, employment law matters, legal claims and rights and obligations.
•Addressing litigation, investigations or other legal proceedings.
•Providing legal oversight and advice to the procurement function.
•Oversight of the portfolio inclusive of advice, renewals and registrations of trademarks.
•Tracking and providing updates on the legislative and regulatory changes that impact the business.
•Advise with a view to resolution of disputes.
•Management of debt collection portfolio.
Education and Experience:
•Bachelor of Laws Degree
•Eligible to practice law in Trinidad and Tobago along with at least two (2) years post-qualification experience.
Technical Skills /Competencies:
•Computer literacy- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
•Ability to assess and advise on risks associated with the business objectives
•Strong knowledge of practices, applicable laws, rules and regulations governing proper business conduct; ability to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations;
•Effective communication style
